Forteresse - La lame du passé

Album Review: Forteresse - Crepuscule d'Octobre

Yet again Forteresse has not failed to impress. There is something about black metal from Quebec that is completely mesmerizing. I've always been a fan of French black metal and it seems that across the Atlantic these French Canadians are upholding the French tradition of creating beautiful compositions. Along with Forteresse Quebec has introduced such black metal bands as Gris, Monarque, and Sombre Forets. Forteresse plays somewhat traditional black metal but with an atmospheric influence. Forteresse creates haunting melodies with a combination of  high tremolo picking, brutal vocals, and classic black metal drumming rhythms. This album is nothing less than what i expected from Forteresse.

Day 1

Welcome to No Light Shall Shine. This blog was created in hopes of offering an archive of reviews, videos, and photography related to the black metal subculture. In order to introduce the blog properly I feel the blogger ( or shall I say "bloggers") must also be introduced. No Light Shall Shine was crafted by two individuals who share a common love for black metal, nature, and a rebellion against modernity. We hope to offer insightful reviews and beautiful photography. I personally feel black metal should not be a boys club. We will try to post tasteful pictures of black metal beauties. Black metal, I feel, has always put an emphasis on aesthetics. The beauty of the natural female form is something which deserves praise and appreciation. If anyone has suggestions for reviews or interesting photos, feel free to contact us.
